Is ther any big bucks in virginia?

Iv been looking all over the internet and all i have been seeing is guys killing 4 and 6 pointers."like they done killed a 200in deer" Im moveing to Norfolf this weekend with my wife."shes in the navy"And im so affraid there is'nt a good deer in the stae.What is the average buck in the state?

I don't live there anymore, but i can tell you there are some good deer there. It is like most states, there are some good ones and some bad ones, just depends on the land you are hunting and the pressure there. As for people killing small deer, that is a fact of life. they also run dogs on deer in VA or at least they used to and the doggers kill anything, but if there is a season for it that is there right. Hopefully you will be able to get on some good ones.

yes there are big bucks in virginia but the further east you go towards the coast the smaller they get. I live in southwest virginia close to the virginia-west virginia border in rockbridge and me along with several of my friends see large bucks on a regular basis the biggest i have killed was 201 boone and crockett buck. i guess it all comes down to how far up in the mountains you go.

There are some big ones in the southeastern section of VA too. They seldom get posted on sites and stuff. I have some pics of some big ones killed there last year (see photo). Depends on what you consider big. I'd shoot the one pictured for sure!
