Kick/Feedback of a firearm

Postby Hunter_Dan » Wed Mar 15, 2006 4:39 pm

When Im firing a rifle or a shotgun...my dad says that im not holding onto my gun tight enough....he says that when i shoot the gun moves up a little and if it was a realistic scenario with a deer infront of me i'd of missed it for sure....what should i do?

snug that butt plate into your shoulder like your trying to keep someone from takin it away from ya. and try squeezing the trigger real slow on all your shots at targets, because your most accurate placement will be when the gun surprises you when it goes off. If your shooting one like Quigley shoots then all ya got to do is think trigger and KaaaWWWHHHaaammmmmm. It goes off through the power of telepathy

I agree with Carnivore. Pull it in tight and squeeze the trigger. Jerking the trigger will make you miss everytime. I also take some deep breathes to calm down. Once you are ready to shoot take in one more, let about half of it out and hold the rest, squeeze the trigger. If you feel that you cant hold it anymore, start over.
