Learned my lesson...don't assume.

I went out bow hunting today and the land I am hunting on is new. The farmer wanted to know more about archery. He took my PSE bow and pulled it back. I thought he would know better not to dry fire it. I was wrong. He dried fired it. Had to bite my tongue. He was lucky he didn't get hurt. My peep site flew off, but everything looked fine. I shot a few arrows and it was okay. So don't assume if someone is pulling your bow they are not going to do something dangerous. Geesh!

Ahhhhhh, I would have had my heart in my throat if someone did that in front of me, just the thought of that makes me cringe.

Glad it didn't come apart and hurt one or both of you.

it made a loud whapping noise. I am still wondering i I should change my string now. Not sure what would take the brunt of the damage. I would assume the cable/string would.

The whapping noise was likely the rubber coated cables slapping each other. Just good a limb or the cable didn't snap and come back and hit him in the eyes and mess him up.

As far as changing them out I wouldn't unless I saw something when I looked the bow over, I would just give everything a good going over before and after shooting as you should always do.

The bow string is made up of individual stands and it is very strong, just keep it waxed up and watch for fraying and if a strand ever breaks then replace it.

I would still take it to a pro shop and have them look it over. It's not worth somthing happening to you later on. A limb could have a small split and shatter next draw. Trust me you dont want that. I had a recurve break on me back in the day and the srting cut me all to hell!!!!!!
