Looking for a deer hunting guide

Postby novadude » Mon Jul 11, 2011 1:08 pm

I live in Northern Virginia (Loudoun County). I'm wondering if there is anyone close that would be willing to teach me, guide me hunting. I am entirely new in this.

Thank you very much!

I'm more into waterfowl than deer at this point..But you may consider joining The VA. Deerhunters arse. They have members across the state and just maybe you can meet up with some of those guys. I'm sure you can find some members looking for new members as the season gets closer too!

Are you looking to bow or gun hunt. I am just curious. I currently hunt in Loudoun county and in Fairfax. I might be able to help but my work schedule is horrible and hard to determine when I will be off. I have been hunting since I can walk pretty much and would be willing to help you, but time would be the only factor that I would have to deal with. Let me know if you are still interested. Also do you have a place to hunt yet? Private land is the easiest to do and usually you can hunt it for free.

Same situation here. I live in Fairfax and am new to deer hunting. I've just done quail/pheasant/crow before and want to move up to bigger game. I'm hoping this fall will be my first season. Done a lot of reading about it and would love to go with someone to help learn the ropes.

I'm a long time shooter, hunted birds for about 3 yrs and am looking to learn. Not interested in trophys, just learning the skill and getting the meat. I'm looking to hunt w/ either shotgun or rifle. Don't have and never used a bow (plan to learn one day, but better get the hunting down first).

Would you consider using a guide service? Not only would you enjoy a day of hunting, but the guides offer alot of great info, for scouting to the processing of the game, plus you'll have a ball..... If so, try Virginia Elite Outdoors. It's a great way to get started.... Good Luck

I'm definitely open to it though it seems a bit pricey if all they do is walk you to a tree stand.
