How difficult was it to draw a permit. I am going to start to try this year and I was wondering if it was hard or if there is any tricks to getting drawn. Good luck
yeah im from florida and i started putting in 2 years ago , but they said you should get it every 10-12 years ,and you have more of a chance to get it if you live in the staate you are trying to get the moose permit in like a 25% more chancce then a out of stater
I noticed that the price of a moose hunt is going up every year since i started putting in.At this rate by the time im drawn it will cost me 15-20,000dollars for a moose.
yeah it is very odd, but you do have to have some luck in order to get one. Alos some people get theirs on if they know game wardens and stuff, so it is just luck basically
A buddy of mine has been drawn 2 years in a row(didnt apply this year). He is putting in zones that a buddy that lives there suggests for a cow tag. That is easier to get. Then there is a website where you can go and swap tags to possibly get what you want. He got 2 bull tags both years for the zone he wanted and killed a bull both years.
Here is a pic of his first moose and video of it. I will get the second pic and video after work.
Just going by what was in his blog. I cant find the other pic and video that he did. I am having to look through 2 years of blogs to find it.... 3 years if you count this year. Lots of blogs there besides his.
Curiosity killed the cat, but I was a suspect for a while......

thats impossible you cant put in for 2 years after your drawn.
I seen this in the rules too but have heard of it happening on more than one ocassion.Dont ask me how.Im not sure but maybe this rule is only a few years old.You would probably know more than me though.
congratulations on the draw! one thing in maine road hunting is becoming less and less productive each year.ya there getting smarter. plan on getting back in the swamps and woods and quartering your moose to get him out.bring ice and black pepper to protect the meat. young bulls are the best eating yum.

Good luck with that, I got picked in 82, haven't been picked again since. If the states managing that system it's bound to be screwed up.
You can always buy one at the auction.
