(i may have spelled mainge wrong) as most of you may be able to tell from my username, i run.... alot. I run crosscountry indoor track and track. Well anyways im training for indoor track and on my longer runs, i'll head out to my local metro park and run there. I have noticed while i run that i'll see 20 - 40 squirrels, and over half of the squirrels have mainge. Is this going to start to be a problem for the "wild" squirrells

It probably needs to be taken care of. You might want to call the Parks Dept and let them know.
Curiosity killed the cat, but I was a suspect for a while......

I doubt it's mange, it's probably scars from where wolves have hatched. Wolves are a bot fly larva that live under the skin of a squirrel until they hatch out. The squirrels usually recover without any problems.

it might be but im pretty sure its mainge. I have seen Mainge a lot on the one property that i used to hunt on.

i would also say mange because the squirrels by my park had mange and they hired a bunch of people to clear them out
