mosquitos

Postby 09blackonblack » Thu Sep 24, 2009 6:50 pm

im new here however ive been bow hunting for the last 5 years to no avail.

i have only shot at 3 deer in my life...

the first was a small buck... my bow hit a limb when i went to shoot forcing the arrow to go under

the second was a doe i shot and hit a weed

and tuesday night i missed a very nice 8 point due to a massive case of the shakes.

tonight after leaving the same stand i saw a HUGE 10 at the same time he seen me... he took off in a dead run for the trees

ok to the main point of my post... how do you get the mosquitos to leave you alone? every time im in the stand they are constantly on my hands biting through my scentlock gloves and buzzing my eyes and face through my face mask.

I wear a suit a lot like that, but its really light weight and not to hot. Along with my face mask the bugs don't have a chance to get to me. My face mask is like a mesh that hangs down from my hat.(glasses make the cool kinda to complicated.) Plus ..... it makes me you practically disappear in the woods. :D :D :D

Like Tony said, get a Therma-cell, they aren't that expensive.

My face mask has no whole there. The mask like that cause my glasses to fog. So i have to use a loose mask that dosent hug my face, and not the one that came with my suit.

Don't worry about the scent on a thermacell. Never had one spook because of it.

Those Therma Cells work amazing!!! Never seen anything like it before. There were 100's of mosquitos on us, not 3 minutes after that therma cell was going there wasn't one on me. Don't waste your money on anything else.

also if you go on ebay you can buy the butane cartridges from clairol which are larger and cheaper than what Thermacell charges.
