Muzzleloader Season

Postby hoosierhunter33 » Wed Dec 06, 2006 12:03 pm

Hey all. I'm in Indiana & this is my first year muzzleloading. I've shot muzzleloaders a lot, just never hunted the season. Shotgun season ended last Sunday here & the season was very slow. Our gun season came in week later than normal and most of the rutting activity had slowed by opening weekend.

Here's my question: What different strategies do you all use with late(r) season hunts (throughout December) that are different than bow or shotgun strategies? Do you set up in different areas? Concentrate on feeding areas now? Stuff like that.....anyone with any success later in the year with a muzzleloader?

i would find a spot between bedding and feeding areas, now the bucks are probably hungry after hardly eating anything during the rut and trying to put on as much weight as they can for the rest of winter, catch em on the way to the feeding area, this is what i would try do. good luck.
