Ahhhh - Yeah, shooting that versus no venison I can understand the dilema but its a good idea to let those spikes go, they can't ever be trophies if they don't get a few years on them. LOL

You are young though so its good for experience, to help you keep from getting bad buck fever some day when that 'monster' comes into your scope.

Congrats on the buck. Like Buckey said, when I was young I would have counted every little bump on that rack. Hell, He would've been up around 36 or 37 points by the time I got done with him.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.

Congratulations on your first buck. Don't let anybody kid you, some guys never do get "horns". Heck, I hunted for nearly 20 years before I claimed my first set. And years from now I bet your most "memorable buck" will be this one.....

Years later in your life when u got countless bucks under yur belt, this one will still hold a great memory for u...congrats...that first one feels just like gettin a big 10 pointer.....trust me i know...:)
why pass up a 2.5 year old? Because next year he will be a 3.5 year old.

Yea I would of let the spike go & shot a doe if you were looking for meat. But you gotta start somewhere, Nice first buck! Congrats.
