Postby BlackbirdHiLL » Fri Jan 23, 2009 2:34 pm

Just got me a new hunting ride for next year :D It has a 13" suspension lift & a 3" body lift (13 inches of total lift  ). It has 44" Super Swamper Boggers on it. Need some minor work but nothin major.

Sweet, gonna do some river bed running in that i'll bet. LOL

Maybe for deer loading get an electric ATV winch and bolt it into the front of the bed to help drag your deer up into the bed of the truck.

Ouch that sucks, if your truck doesn't have one it may be worth getting a steering stabilizer by Rancho or some other off road gear brand.

On a truck like yours that is jacked up the steering components and drive shaft universals are going to suffer and wear out more frequently.

It looks like it already has the steering stabilizer, look at the front axle, I think the boot is sticking out on the right side just behind the swaybar.

speaking of the front axle, what does it have on it? Looks like the dinky stock one. You need a good Dana or something similar up there.

Ok, yeah I looked at the pic again and now I see the boot on it, thats actually the tie rod that its sitting behind.

The sway bar can be seen way up above that going through mounts next to where the leaf springs mounts go to the frame.

That truck is old enough it could be all the steering rod ends are beginning to wear out, especially if the body has been jacked up like that for quite a few years and considering the type of use that type of truck typically goes through so it might be a good idea to look them all over.

Have someone gently rock the steering wheel left and right while you look for play in the rod ends.

Nice truck, would be a lot of fun. I'd be afraid of how much all the repairs would cost.
