My T/C Omega Z5 gun question.

My T/C Omega Z5 gun question.

Postby silvergts1998 » Fri Dec 19, 2008 5:19 pm

What is a fair market price on these guns new? I think I paid about $650 after my rebate. Not sure if I got a good deal or not.

Also man I am amazed with this muzzlerloader. It's my first one ever and I took out a possum at 130 yards dead on with my Nikon Buckmaster scope!! WOW! This thing is as accurate as my Remington 30-06 sps rifle!

Love it!

One other question, on the ram rod, is there an attachment I can put on the end of it so I don't have to put a hole in my hand when forcing down the bullet down the barrel?

Thanks!

Price wise you paid about right for it.As far as the ramrod goes, get a ball starter, its a short rod with a 'T' handle to start the round down the barrell.
Want my ammo?Ok,stand downrange.

Yeah I have that tool. I wasn't sure if there was another ram rod I could get that would fit that rifle with a better handle on the end. I thought that t/c made a handle with a t on it?

For the record, the possum I shot was wounded already. Looked like something ate part of it's side, so I put it out of it's misery.

There are companies that make Ram Rod T-handles, they stay inline with the rod when stowed but flip around to a T-handle position when in use.

Do a Google on (Muzzleloader Ram Rod Handles).

I hate to break it to you, but you may have paid too much for that gun. I got one just over a year ago with a starting kit that included accessories, a Simmons 3-9 x 40 scope and hard case for $420 (Canadian).

I'm looking at a catalogue right now that shows the Omega Z5 for $369.99 (Canadian) with no scope. Both the prices I listed are for black synthetic stocks with blued barrels.

I guess it depends on what kind of scope you got with your gun.

Actually, I just looked at my receipt and saw I paid $399.99 and then a Nikon buckmaster scope which was $249.00. Just did my $50.00 rebate form tonight.

besides the pain in the arse breach and the weight of the gun, I really like this baby. Today was the last day of muzzleloader season for me. Didn't get anything, but managed to fire off a few rounds before I store it away.

I finally got my rebate in for this gun. Why did it come from Smith and Wesson?
