My Used Bow

Postby JacobE4 » Wed Mar 10, 2004 8:34 am

I have a browning arrow star that is 2 years old, with all the accessories totaling about $500 brand new I was wondering how much depreciation has incured seince I had purchased it. I wanted to sell it and I was wondering what a good price would be. Any help would be appreciated.

$350-400 should be a good price.

The broadheads i use and love are grim reaper razortip broadheads. The tip is a half inch long before the mechanical blades. That way your guarunteed pentration and almost any angle...also the dont use rubber band or o-ring so that is always a plus.
If you can't kill it with a 20 gauge....you don't need to be out there.

The browning bow is probably worth about 250 setup if you are selling instead of trading. The guy wondering about broadheads should definitly use a fixed blade head(muzzy, razorback, etc.) That low-end bear wouldn't have enough speed or energy to make me feel confident enough to use expandables. Your bow can be an effective killing machine if set up right.

I do use fixed razor back blades & have killed every dear that I have shot at . My 1st was a doe at 40yds with carbon arrow, 2nd was a doe at 30yrds, I ahve also killed a 10 point buck with my muzzleloader at 75yrds, & a button buck at 60yrds. This year I am going to get a new bow, probably get a 75lb with some let off (I have burcidous in both shoulders bad so iI need a little help to be able to bow now) & give my bear bow to my 17yr old son.
