Easier to post a picture and then go from there.
If you have yet to mount the scope on your muzzleloader you need to make sure the elevation adjustment knob is to the top and that it is straight up verticle (some use a small bubble level) and not off at an angle, also set the eye relief so the eye piece is far enough from your face so when you shoot the scopes eye piece doesn't hit you on the eyebrow and give you 'scope eye'.
You want to make those adjustments prior to torqueing the scope lock down screws on the scope mounts.
In the middle of the scope are the 'elevation' and 'windage' adjustments, they are very fine adjustments for zeroing in your muzzleloader so at 100 yards when you shoot the bullet should hit the 100yd target in the bullseye if you are holding it steady.
If your scope is variable power, the entire (power ring) on the eye piece should rotate for the magnification adjustment.
If you want to know how to 'zero a scope' then I would suggest you do a google on that so you will be able to better understand than the description that I would give. LOL
