New found product

Hey there fellas just found somthin that might catch your attention. It's called the bow bug. You can look it up at bowbug.com or bowbug in your search engine. It is a game recovery system. Me and my buddy I hunt with are gonna purchase one and see how it works this september. Looks pretty neat. I am a little sceptical but if it works it will be awsome and cut down on those long track jobs at night. It is and electronic transmitter thar attaches to your arrow and is not supose to affect it's flight. Comes with one transmitter and a type of antenna. Check it out and tell me what you think. I am gonna try it.

Doesnt look to bad to me. just click on the bicture of the target with the arrows in it on the left side of the page. It would be nice to show some deer footage huh. Well one thing is for sure I will let you al know how it works.

lol. i am going to try to tape some hunts this year myself. do you do the camera work on your own or do you take a partner? if by yourself what do you use to hold the cam.? is it easy to access once a deer comes into view so i can focus on the deer before the shot? etc, etc. just wondering.

video

Postby bambeklr » Tue Jul 05, 2005 3:00 am

Well I have done both. It is much easier to have a partner there. I have this camera holder that ratchets to the tree. It has a telescoping arm with a bracket you just attach to your camera. The end of the arm is a swivel bracket. It tightens and adjusts to help focus. You can put the thing high or low. I liked it low so it wasnt in my way when the deer came. I was taping bow hunts. I would focus the camera before I put it on standby or turned off. When the deer came I would simply reach down and turn it on then slowly stand up. It was easy the way I was hunting because I was hunting a corn pile. I know where the deer were gonna go so I just focused the camera there. I got some neat video. All that I got were does on film and some little bucks. I killed 3 does on tape at 26 yards. I was seeing atleast 8 deer every day. The only day I saw a big buck was on a wednesday morning and it was so cold that by the time he go to me the camera battery died. Like I said it is much easier with a partner. I just cant stand not shooting when it is my turn to video. My buddy has a hookup with the drury brothers and we are trying to start filming some good deer. They said they would help us out.

I think they are 299 bucks and the replacement transmitters are 2 for 79 bucks. Its expensive but you figure if it works on that monster that was hit marginal at last light it was well worth it. I will let you all know come september for sure.

The only thing I got out of that video is that whoever is shooting is not a very good shot. Man, at forty yards he was all over the place.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.
