New Hunting Product On The Market!

Postby WTAILHUNTER » Fri Mar 09, 2007 5:26 pm

Hi all I just wanted to share with everyone the info on a new product that I bought at a trade show in the east. It is called the Cold Armor belt. It is a kidney warming belt to help keep you warm when it's cold out and you want to be in your stand hunting. I am always looking for ways to stay warm and I have to say this is by far the best product that I have added to my must have list of warm hunting cloths. It works with air activated body warmers, they sell it for $24.99 with 3 18 hour warmers included. It has been very cold up here in the north east and I have used it coyote hunting so far and it works great. I met the owner at a trade show in MA, they are located in NH and he also is a hunter and designed it for hunting(no snaps or velcro) It is fully adjustable to fit someone with a very small waste(wife/girlfriend) and he said he has had it on a farmer with a 62 inch waste!. I sent him an email and told him I liked it and that I would tell everyone who hunts I can about it just because it's not that often you get a product that you are very pleased with. At least I don't.

Any way I thought I would let some fellow hunters know about it just to support another hunter who has a great product. There web site is ***LINK REMOVED*** for anyone that might be interested.

I simply take the Hot Hands and tuck them in the side of the waiste of my pants or sweat pants that is under my coveralls. Serves the same purpose and saved me 25 bucks!

Gator, it sounds like he was advertising just the belt that the warmers go in. The warmers work with or without the belt. That is why it was said that the belt comes with 3 warmers. Once you use them, you trash them and buy more. The link was removed by a moderator as posting links for advertisement is not allowed. However, he gave the name so, you can google it to find out more info.

You bet they do. And don't mess up and put them in your boots before you walk to your stand or you will be on fire by tha time you get there. Here in North Louisiana, we get some bone chilling humid cold weather at times. I'm talking teeth rattling. I will leave my boots unlaced loosly and when I get to the stand, activate the hot hands and slide theminto the toe of the boot then slip my foot in to where the hot hands are long ways under the bottom of my toes. Yes, I use the hands for the feet as the hands get hotter and they are smaller. That and a couple of pairs of wool socks. I also put one on each hip by flipping my sweatpants over and "rolling" them up in there. That will help around the kidneys and generate heat that you will feel come up towards your neck. It is good to have a face mask of some sort that you can tuck in to your coat to channel the hot air that you exhale into your coat. Plus, this helps with not fogging up the scope when big boy walks out.

The key is to dress in layers and carry most your heavy clothes to your stand. Alot of hunters will overdress then they will be all sweaty whey they get to their stands causing them to freeze within an hour or so. And all that cotton insulated underwear and socks, throw that crap in the trash. Cotton is bad as it holds in moisture and traps it against the body.

Progers,

I wish you would have given that advise before this past hunting season. HAHA :?

I had plans to make some pockets that hold the hot hands, but it didnt get that cold here this year. You take and make the pockets big enough to hold the Big hot packs and then attach them together by making some shoulder straps long enough to hold the packs over your heart. Once you get to your stand or blind, open the hot packs, slide them in the pockets and then drop the pockets down your shirt, one in the front and one in the back. If you can keep your core temp up, the body doesnt pull blood and warmth from other body parts.

The military rans some tests on this and found that people with the heaters lasted several times longer than those without the heaters. The test they ran were in a cooler and the participants were in their underwear.
