Welcome to the forum! If you have does on the property right now but not bucks, I would hang tight because the rut is about to start and bucks will be where the does are. It's a little too late to try and start a mock scrape (those are good to make in late September through all of October) but in a week or so, I would try making a 20-30 yard sized figure 8 with a scent drag with doe estrus on it in front of or around your stand or ground blind. Follow that up with a few long doe bleats while you're hunting and you may see a nice buck cruising.

Great recommendation by Doug, and I would also say to study the land you're hunting. Nearly every piece of land (especially if it's relatively small) has some sort of limiting factor such as not enough food sources, little cover/bedding area, insufficient water sources, etc. If this is true, you can help make your piece of property more suitable for the deer. And remember, keeping the does on your property will ensure you will have some bucks as well. Hope all goes well!
Although this saying might be a little cliche, it's so true... hunting is not just a passion, it's an obsession.....it's part of what defines my life.....and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Good deal. Don't rely too much on the food once the rut really starts though, I've had a bait pile go virtually untouched in a nice buck bedding area because they were basically starving themselves chasing does for about a week or two. Once the late rut comes back, the baiting begins to work again. Awesome job! It's fun when the hunting picks up and you see them all over! 8)

the bait pile is still getting hit about the same but i am also on a major deer run so im sure they are running through also but not hitting the pile. i am getting a little frustrated though because there are about 7 hunters besides me in probably 1-2 square miles. what should i do? one guy is very close to me but that didnt seem to bother the hunting last year, but now this year there are about 3 new blinds around. im afraid with all the new hunters it will push the deer out or atleast make them nocturnal. any ideas guys?!?

How much land are we talking here? Are you able to sneak in closer to the bedding area so you get a first chance to see the deer before the other hunters? Are the other hunters weekend warriors and only hunt the weekends? If so, you may want to hunt a few afternoons (or mornings if you are able but I assume you have school or work) during the week when they aren't there (or vice versa if they hunt mostly during the week).

EDIT: Also, I'd use the doe in heat, once the rut comes, the deer should be moving quite a bit and it's the best chance you have of seeing/shooting a deer from here on out.
