Hi i have a 3 month old blood hound i am trying to train to trail deer. i live in Marianna Fl,jackson county but hunt in apalachicola national forest, Franklin county. We have a fox pin bout 30 min away but i dont have anyone to teach me how to train my pup nor do i have anyone that has a dog to help train mine. help please

Very helpfull.. NOT anyway i would get a dummy(Deer hide ball) and have your dog play with it and get used to it. Then tie a rope to it and pull it and have him follow the dummy around and try playing with it. Then tie it and pull it out 25-50 yds into some brush and have him find it(FOLLOW THE SCENT TRAIL). Then again and again and again until he knows what he's looking for everytime you say "RETRIEVE!" But make sure you increase the distance. Hope this helps!!!

thank you for the advice she is picking up pretty fast i just wish shed bark when she is trailing i guess she will have to learn that from being around other hounds on the trail?
