New member in South california

Hey everybody,
well i am a new member just transferred to San Diego on orders., but more than that i have never hunted before except for hunting for feral snakes and trouble Gators in the everglades. I would love to find a place locally were i could learn how to get into hunting (open for all types of hunting, would love to learn how) I would also like to start teaching my oldest boy (8). Anyone have any tips or ideas for types of hunting in the area, maybe clubs or stuff like that. I don't just want to pay for a guide for one trip..I would like to learn how to do it myself and teach my boys. Thanks everybody.

Welcome to the site! I am not from Cali but I would start by looking at the California game and fish website. Find some public land it should say what species of animals frequent it. Look at the topo makes for good spots to try for deer or hogs. Then just go from there.
