New rifle

Postby mase » Tue Dec 26, 2006 3:10 am

I received a new rifle.. It's a Remington Model 710.. I went hunting with it yesterday and, didn't get a chance to shoot it... I use to shoot a .243, and stopped them in their tracks with that.. Just needed my own rifle instead of using my fathers.

I bought a Remington 710 in .30-06 two years ago. I like mine and it is accurate enough for. The bolt is stiff but gets better with a little working. The bolt stiffness is the #1 complaint of some gun writers of the 710 but I find that there is little use of a followup shot after a well placed 06 round. I love the weather resistant finish and use it in rain rather than my wood stocked rifles. Best advise find a load your rifle likes, pratice and learn your rifle.
