New rifle for a good price

Boys today i was looking at a New England survivor in .308 and it looks like a good deal, anyone on here have any experience with this rifle or own one? If I end up geting it ,it will be my first single shot rifle but i ant to worried because its in a hard hiting .308 caliber. Plus it looks realy good, even beter with a good scope. so any thoughts or opinions.

Never used one. The 308 is a great round. As far as the single shot, why would you need to shoot twice!

I own an NEF and wouldnt trade it for the world. It is a great firearm and I dont think you will be disappointed. The only thing I dont like about them is the trigger pull, but that can be fixed by paying shipping and sending it back to NEF. They will lighten it and send it back to you. They dont charge for this service.

I have a NEF SB2 one of the first models ....I got it some 16yrs ago in 270 it's okay but doesn't group like I want it too so I don't hunt it much. I don't know why. I have too many others that I like better. If you are looking for an inexpensive good shooting rifle look at the new Stevens model 200 for around 268.00 at Walmart special order only. Many calibers to choose from. It has the same action and all as the Savage 110 long action.
