I have been doing some looking around here lately, and have enjoyed what I have been seeing. So, I joined up to gain more knowledge about hunting and hopefully to get to meet up with some of y'all one day. But here is a little about myself. I am originally from a small town (in SC) just East of Augusta, Ga (yes the city where the Masters Golf Tournament is played). I moved to the Charlotte, NC area 7 years ago. I have been hunting since I was 10 years old. I killed my first deer at the ago of 10. It was a 70 pound button buck taken with a shotgun shooting slugs. I had my father in the same stand with me when I took him, and it will be something that I will always remember. There have been many deer taken since then, but other than my first deer 2 deer stand out as the most memorable ones. One was a 142 lb 8 pointer with a 18" inch spread (which is mounted on the wall), and the other is another 130 pound 8 pointer with a 13" spread (took this one from the backyard of my parents old house). I moved to Charlotte in 2002, and since that time I have been hunting during the '02 and '03 seasons. Then I went through a dry spell of not hunting, finally got to go again this past Thanksgiving back at my Grandad's land in SC. I have yet to do any hunting in NC, as I have no place to hunt here. I was on the evening hunt of my last day when I ended my 6 year hunting drought and 11 year deerless drought when I took a 100 lb 4 pointer. It was like taking my first deer all over again. It is a feeling I will never forget. And it taught me not to go this long ever again with out spending some quality time in God's woods, and spending quality time hunting with your family.
