Newbie in Nebraska

Postby LiquidSteel » Sun Nov 08, 2009 2:13 pm

Greetings all.
I live in Omaha Nebraska and I want to learn about bow hunting. I have hunted succesfuly in western Iowa during slug season about ten years ago. But now I have a new interest in bow hunting. When I was a kid one of my neighbors had a recurve and that was always fun to shoot paper plates at 20 yards. Recently I have shot a compound PSE lightning force and that was REALLY cool. Im not ready to drop alot of money on gear. Ill wait until the season is over and the gear goes on sale. But I hope that if I have questions you good people can point me in the right direction.

Kenny

Thank you all for the nice welcome. I hope to get alot of good info on bow hunting, and hunting in general here. My 12 year old son is also wanting to get his first buck this year, but I told him he needs to learn patience. Heck, Im over 40 and I havent learned patience yet. lol

Thanks again!

Kenny

Boystown has a lot of good sports for the kids. I just wish that Omaha hadnt grown around Boystown like they have. Used to have lush farmland all around the place, not to mention good hunting grounds. But its all strip malls and apartments now. Soon the drive from Omaha to Lincoln will be the same.

There are alot of good wrestlers up that way,,we had 1 in particular we wanted to keep wrestling. A young man that qualified for US Olympic trials last year. The son was competitive with him,,just made him better.
