Last year i bought 30 acrs in pitcher new york area 7m.Now i see a nonrsident cant get a doe permit for this area. I really dont understand that i see a ton of does all the time. Does anyone know why this is? Any ideas would be great..

Central NY is always tough for DMPs. Im not sure exactly why, but you may want to call the DEC office in that area and find out if you may be able to get one because you are a land owner there. There just might be some kind of exception. On average, they are handing out more DMPs this year than last year.

Doe permits

Postby Dcmnts51 » Wed Aug 06, 2008 2:33 pm

Thanks for the reply. I called the dec and they said there are no dmaps for that area for nonresidents. But the lady did suggest i find a resident of new york and have them get a dmap permit for 7m and i get there dmap and we trade. You can legally transfer dmap permits. Is there anyway you could help me out with this? I would be very greatful! Dustin

doe permits

hey, depending on the area the dec has been re-setting dmu's. it is always tough to get a doe permit although they do seem to be everywhere. my father has land in cortland county and always gets a permit...try the landowner way. landowners always get at least one permit..then they are put into the pool like everyone else.
