Hey yall,
Glad I found this site. Rut is going strong here. I'd just thought I'd make a link here and get into things deeper here in a minute.

Ok, so let me explain it all quick.
I've been hunting for the past 6 years, mostly bow. I have a 70lb Bear bow.
I've been hunting this one piece of land (~25 acres - timberlined terraced corn/bean field).
My stand is facing N-NW and the wind is generally in my face. Days like today, where the wind was out of the S, are bad wind days.
I'm at the bottom of a ravine to the South of me. 15 ft stand. Timber line is along the South edge with terraced field to my North. I'm located facing a nice funnel. There is also another exit point to the East and all the way in the back NW corner.
Anyhow, I've been tracking this big bodied 10 pointer for the past 5 years. He's so smart. Keeps skirting me at 40yds every encounter. I've tried every tactic; stalking, old makeshift 10ft stand, blind, and am currently in a 15 foot stand. Doe urinate, Kinks magnetic, you name it. I cannot get to this guy. Anyway, I'll continue with today's encounter.
I get out there this morning at my normal time. I walk into action central.
The wind is out of the South (timber area) and I'm heading West to my stand, which is about 200yds in situated along the timbre line. As soon as I get to the top of the first hill, I'm busted by a buck about 100yds to my South. I drop and still until he walks away on his own. I get up and continue to my stand. Another 50yds in, I'm greeted by a large coyote. He follows and eyes me until I get up in my stand. That coyote keeps walking and scares the 10 pointer (target) and his 4 does and they run South along the rear fence into the timber. So I get in my stand...
With so much action, I start rattling right away. A 6 pointer wanders right under me. I could have killed him, but let him go.
I then see a nice rooster tooling around in the timber. Then gunshots start ringing out. They continued for about an hour.
Pheasant hunters scare all the deer out WAY south of even their home area.
I sit there for another 6 hours and didn't see a thing. Got mad and took it in for the day.
Later on in the evening, my pops and I go for a scout drive. We see the target buck on the road coming back in, as well as pretty much every deer in the area filtering back in the South timber. Forecast for tomorrow is high south winds with rain.
I have to get the target deer to come North through the funnel.
Do you guys have any advice for someone blocked by a ravine?
