Odd mounts?

Postby Tony204ing » Mon Dec 24, 2007 6:04 am

Whats the oddest thing you guys have seen mounted?A friend of mine has a ton of diffrent species in his house and his wife was mad that she didnt have a mount of her own.Being a horse nut, when one of her horses delivered a still born she decided that would be her mount. It looks quite stupid if you ask me.Our regular taxidermist refused to do it saying he dosent do pets. The guy that did it said there was no place to hide the stitches so they are all in plain sight.I wish i had the guts to go in ther with my camera and take a pic for you guys. Its quite a sight.

A taxidermist buddy of mine did a Replica Bigfoot ( Sasquatch), from dimensions of supposed sightings by people he met in the Pacific Northwest. It really catches folks off guard when they walk into his shop!

I once saw a fellow with a mounted skunk. Not sure what the hell he was thinking but i guess to each his own. No fun for the taxidermist I'll bet.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.

I recentley watched a story about Valley Forge on the history channel. They were making a wax figure of George Washington sitting on a mounted horse.I guess the guy who did my friends horse didnt know what he was doing because Washingtons horse looked pretty good and i couldnt see any stitches.
