Old browning firearm?? Cant figure out what it is

Postby matt_3479 » Tue Dec 15, 2009 6:43 pm

The only thing written on the barrel is fabrique nationale d'armes de guerre herstal belgique. It says Browning FN Automatic on the Butt. That's all it says. No model, no caliber, no serial number. could anyone tell me what model it is. So then i could search about it and see what it was made in?

Yes this is Browinings 1900 patented Model 8 Rifle manufactured from 1906-1936. Since it has FN on it this rifle was not doubt one made by FN overseas. Remington built the same rifle here in the states as the Remington Model 8 Rifle. Looks like it is in great shape. What caliber is it in?
