Not to be difficult but it's the shooter not the bow. I know a guy who can shoot a longbow with no sights better than I can a compound with sights.

I know, I didn't really answer how you wanted. :D I mean $500 is a pretty fair price for a fully loaded anything. Is this used or new?

its a used bow. the reason im asking about it is because its already 5 years old so its hard to find much info on it, so i thought id post something here and hopefully get some feedback.

mine's about the same age... and i love it... i've done some tweaking on it and have it tuned just the way i like it.....

as with any bow, you'll need to spend a load of time practicing.... getting the feel of it and such. if you're not comfortable tweaking the bow yourself, find you a trusted source that can help you out... especially one that can be there when you're shooting and can do the tweaks on the spot!

here's a great write-up on that switchback with some really good details....

Hi. I shoot a Matthews but haven't ever owned the Q2. I have talked to people that had them and loved them. They are an older model though. I would take it to a pro shop and have the limbs checked and make sure it still shoots at max poundage.

if it is the switchback LD you better get it or let me know where its at and I will get it - thats a great bow to shoot - its does not matter if it is a long draw or not - i want the long draw - i left mathews because they stopped making the switchback LD and went strother's but I still want a switch LD - its a great bow!!!!!!!!!!

I have a switchback and i LOVE mine. their short, quiet and light. 500 is fair but you could probably get him to come down a little. it really depends what is on it. especially when you start talkin about rests and sights, you can range hundreds of dollars in defference between low end stuff and high end.

I shoot league at an archery shop in WI and I remember hearing the shop manager/co-owner make a VERY BROAD statement that any bare used mathews is worth 400. I sold my DXT on ebay to get a z7 and I think it went for around 500 (bare). So you gotta ask yourself about the components. Typically used components go for dimes on the dollar. Are they even ones you would use? Does it need a new string? It all adds up. You might be better off exploring other options strictly dependent upon the numbers. Not that I'm a know all. Great bow tho.
