Personal Deer Cleaning issue.

Postby BuckFeverPatient » Thu Nov 17, 2011 7:39 pm

Hi there, I am wondering what vets of Deer hunting do to help there stomach not swirl when your field stripping a deer. I am wanting to get into Deer hunting but I have this big problem. The reason I have this problem is because I was talking to my cousin right after he got home from his hunt and got a pretty nice 9 pointer (I think, not 100% sure) and he was telling me how he cleaned it. Thats one thing I cannot do! He was telling me that he had to reach into the Deer and scoop all the internals of the Deer into a bucket and he was telling me about how he kept throwing up. I want to prevent that. I was wondering how I could "Train" My stomach not to hurl when I am cleaning my first Deer :D Thank you for your answer and your time! Your tips will help me alot!!

If you have a pretty "tough" stomach, you shouldn't have any problems. Most of the time it is the smell that gets everyone, put a clip on your nose or something in it to keep from smelling it. I know a gentleman that is in his 70's and has killed plenty deer and still throws up after all these years.
Curiosity killed the cat, but I was a suspect for a while......
