public land bucks

Just had some questions. I have a really nice buck scouted out on public land. It is a good hike into where he is at. About 1 mile through heavy cover. What do ya'll do in situations like this? There are alot of hogs on this place too, I was wandering if walking in with a light would be best. I already checked access from all sides. It is about 1 mile from any road.

Just do what you can and go in early. Make sure you pick a good spot between the bedding area and feeding area and make sure the wind is right. Bucks will travel up to a mile away during the rut but right now everything is pretty routine so if you don't want to risk someone else taking this buck before the rut, you have no choice but to be aggressive and get in there.
