Public Land/Lake Tips

Postby cod393 » Fri Sep 02, 2011 10:33 pm

Plan to hunt public land this yr with my bow. Heavily forrested areas along a dammed lake. Any tips on hunting near such a large body of water? Is it wise to stay away from the waters edge? Is there a happy median between being to close to water and preventing deer from moving behind me? Taylorsville Lake in KY is where I plan to hunt if any one wants to glance at the satellite image before sharing thoughts. Any advice is very much appreciated, I'm used to hunting private farm land.

sounds like you might be limited on time to scout? i would start on google earth and look for pinch points/natural funnels and start there i hope that helps its kinda hard not knowing the lay of the land
