2 lbs or so venison
2 cans diced tomatoes
1 large turnip or 4-5 large potatoes.
3-4 stalks celery
1-2 medium onions,quartered.
1 dried hot chili pepper
2 cloves fresh garlic
salt and pepper to taste
basil

Brown the cubed meat in a skillet with a bit of oil, put in crock pot.
Deglaze pan with a very small amount of water or red wine.
Chop turnip or spuds in small squares and brown slightly with other veggies along with garlic then put in crockpot.
Sprinkle chopped chilli pepper on top
Dump the canned diced tomatoes on top and season again with salt and pepper, also add your basil on top.
Cover and simmer in the crock pot for 3-4 hours.
You can add/substitute what veggies you have or like.
Remember that crock pot cooking does not require a lot of liquid be added to the mix before cooking.
Adjust if you have more than 3-4 people eating.
Serve with a good garlic bread.
This makes a great camp food that can be ready when you get back from your afternoon/evening hunt. We make it at camp all the time. Good stuff.
