I've got a Nikon Monarch, and I am happy with it. From what I've read in the magazines, the more you pay the more you get.

First off why a 56mm objective?
If you just need a 56mm than of the choices listed a swarovski would be my choice. However I would look at nothing larger than a 50MM as in many top end products it is the glass and lens coatings that make up the meat of the difference in light gathering/transmission abilities. I have a 42 mm Swarovski that is brighter than a lot of 50mm's. I would also not rule out looking at the new Leupold VX III it is very impressive in all categories...without a doubt it will be the next scope I buy.

You have to be careful putting a 56 mm scope on your rifle. I have seen instances where a scope was so large it had to be put on very high rings. This can force you to raise your head off of the comb of the rifle to get a full sight picture. That can make your shots wander all over the place. Just something to keep in mind.

I agree with Kwack. a good leupold 40mm will do great. you might try a 50mm. they both gather large amounts of light and have great clarity. i would also get it in 3-9x or 2.5-10x. just a suggestion.
