San Diego Wild Pigs

Postby 257roberts » Thu Nov 17, 2011 7:08 pm

Is it true that the Ca. DFG sent The USMC in at night with night vision snipers on Helicopters to kill off all the pigs in the Inja Indian reservation ( Cleveland National Forest ). If they gave us better access to the forest roads us Hunters would have been more than happy not to waste all this good meat and chance to hunt .SHAME ON CA. Dept. of Fish and Game  Please respond if anyone knows about this.

I don't have any info on the use of helicopters in the Cleveland NF, but I googled "Cleveland NF pigs" and there were a couple of posts about the Forest Service wanting to get rid of the hogs. Scouted the San Diego River from the Saddleback trailhead. Saw 1 pile of droppings, but no pigs or signs or rooting. Forest Service map shows access point at Inaja Memorial, but gate is closed and locked. Only established campsite is in Descanso RD. Poorest Forest Service markings I'e encountered - ever!
