Can anyone tell me much about this gun and does it come apart for cleaning?

I collect single shot guns of all types. Most single shot shotguns break down this way. Is there a screw in the forearm? If so you can remove it and remove the forearm. My Savages receiver can be lifted away from the barrel. Some have to have the "pin" punched out where the barrel and receiver meet. Its about the size of a dime in thickness. Dont use a punch etc. Wooden dowel or brass gun punch is what you want to use. Some other designs you pull the forearm off without removing any screws etc and some receivers lift off and some have the pin. I cant negotiate the stairs right now to see if I have that particular model is in my gun case. Does yours have a notch on the receiver that kinda resembles a rear sight? I have an old one that was my first gun that had the notch in the receiver. Mine is chambered for 2 3/4 only and was my first shotgun deergun(made in the early 60's). I got it for my 11th birthday used. It has the barrel release on the right side of the receiver. It shot Brenneke slugs ok. There's better options for shotguns for shooting slugs/buckshot etc but it may shoot them good. I took quite a few deer with mine before I "matured" into repeaters etc. Depending on age of the gun I'd be leery of shooting magnum deer loads thru it. Soon as I can get downstairs I'll see for certin what models I have. I have a feeling yours is the same as mine.

Thanks. I don't know a lot about guns and all. I know you have to turn the release to the right and it automatically puts the safety on at that time as well as eject the shell. I haven't shot it yet. I'll try some Winchester or Remington slugs in it.

So Im assuming its hammerless? Mine has a hammer so we may be talking about two different models but it still may shoot foster style slugs good. What choke is it? Mines modified, it will say somewhere on the barrel. If its a full choke it probably wont shoot slugs too good and I'd be fairly leery of shooting any slugs thru it. Some of the single shots have "Poly Chokes", they can be turned to Improved Cylinder or Slug choke setting. I have a couple single shots with "polys" and they are a really good all around gun. Cheap and lightweight, quail to bear can be taken with them. They make great camp or meat guns too.

Its 2 3/4" shell only then which doesnt hurt anything. 2 3/4 deer slugs wont beat you up as bad as the 3" ones will. Some who like buckshot prefer the 3" shells. Thats odd the choke isnt listed on the barrel? Its a fixed choke right? No screw in tubes etc?

No choke at all. No screw in. Just a plain smooth bore barrel. I shot it yesterday at the range and it wasn't bad at all. It only has plastic on the end of the stock so I'll get a pad. Other than that, lovin' it.

Ive got some old single shots with just the Bakelite forearm and stock. Beat ya to death at times but good all around shooters. I havent had time to bounce thru here for awhile. Not alot of action here from Jan-July it seems like.
