Not really. It's a one shot crack back, Nothing special. I was wondering are hey any good? Was the one you had a good deer hunting shotgun?backwoodsman wrote:Got a pic? I may have owned one over the years and didnt know what model it was?
Thanks. I don't know a lot about guns and all. I know you have to turn the release to the right and it automatically puts the safety on at that time as well as eject the shell. I haven't shot it yet. I'll try some Winchester or Remington slugs in it.backwoodsman wrote:I collect single shot guns of all types. Most single shot shotguns break down this way. Is there a screw in the forearm? If so you can remove it and remove the forearm. My Savages receiver can be lifted away from the barrel. Some have to have the "pin" punched out where the barrel and receiver meet. Its about the size of a dime in thickness. Dont use a punch etc. Wooden dowel or brass gun punch is what you want to use. Some other designs you pull the forearm off without removing any screws etc and some receivers lift off and some have the pin. I cant negotiate the stairs right now to see if I have that particular model is in my gun case. Does yours have a notch on the receiver that kinda resembles a rear sight? I have an old one that was my first gun that had the notch in the receiver. Mine is chambered for 2 3/4 only and was my first shotgun deergun(made in the early 60's). I got it for my 11th birthday used. It has the barrel release on the right side of the receiver. It shot Brenneke slugs ok. There's better options for shotguns for shooting slugs/buckshot etc but it may shoot them good. I took quite a few deer with mine before I "matured" into repeaters etc. Depending on age of the gun I'd be leery of shooting magnum deer loads thru it. Soon as I can get downstairs I'll see for certin what models I have. I have a feeling yours is the same as mine.
