'scentless' Mosquito & Tick repellents for deerhunting ?

Anyone use anything other than gloves and a face net? I keep seeing thoses Thermashell things but have never used one.
Anything that would be natural and not spook the deer.

Thanks

Therma Cell

Postby Bushie Jackman » Tue Aug 12, 2008 12:39 pm

1972,
I picked up a therma cell last year and used it during early bow and it worked perfectly! The only problem I encountered was that the Therma cell uses a scent pad, when you initially ignite the device the pad will smoke for a few seconds and you can smell the smoke pretty good, however once the new burn disperses you have a scent free devise that really keeps the bugs off of you for up to 16 hours on a single butane cartridge and one scent pad. Did not get picked off by buck or doe while using it. Hope this helps.

The thermacell is the best type of repellent that I have ever used and in Florida around the swamps you defintly need a good one . I have never had a problem with the deer smelling it either . Walmart also sells the butane catridges for portable hairdryers that will work in the thermacell and are cheaper than the thermacell brand cartriges .
