Scopes

I aquired a 15X 42 Weaver scope yesterday evening and was wondering if it is better than the 3.5 X 10 X 50 that i currently have sitting atop my 300 mag????
Also the weaver isnt adjustable for zoom just has the adjustment for the focus. IE 10,20,30,50,100,200,300,400
