sent prevention

Postby ChrisV » Mon Nov 01, 2010 8:51 pm

So I recently went to my local outdoor store to pick up some new cover scent because I ran out on the last hunt. I wanted to buy primos silver XP i heard that it worked well but for the detergent, wash, and field spray it was a little more money than I would like to spend. I have used others as well but then I came across dead down wind and for a package it was a lot less than the silver xp. I was just wondering if anyone has used dead down wind and is it even decent.

Dead Down Wind actually scored pretty low compared to other brands. I'd suggest Hunter Specialties Scent A Way if Primos is too expensive. Primos and HS scored the highest on the tests that I've seen.

I'll second the last post. I've used hunter specialties for years although I did just start using the Primos Scent Eliminating Spray last year and it worked great as it helped me harvest a nice 10 point. I'd go with hunter specialties if you're looking for something a little cheaper.
Although this saying might be a little cliche, it's so true... hunting is not just a passion, it's an obsession.....it's part of what defines my life.....and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Cover scent (Hunter Specialities) has worked great for me in the past but eventually the smell becomes too stagnant and overpowered and I had to wash the clothes even though they weren't dirty. This year I am using Dead Down Wind evolve, which is a scent eliminator and I don't have to worry about the stagnant overpowered smell that scent cover gives. Both have proven to work good for me though.

That is what I chose to do as well i just picked up the dead down wind field spray, dryer wipes, body/hair wash, and detergent I know it might not be the very best, but i have a trip set for the weekend and i needed to start to get all my close washed and get prepared. So i guess I guess i will find out how it is and if its not good Ill be sure to go with something else the next time.
