When I fire a rifle or shotgun I seem to always be extremely shakey and unbalanced...any suggestions?

fix your stance!

take a normal stride like when you walk, thats the position your feet should be in when shooting free hand from a standing position with 75% of your weight on your foreward foot. I like to exhale nearly half of my breath to minimize the sensation of my pulse thumping in taught muscles.

You can also rest your rifle on something, wooden frnce post ect.Be sure and pad it first so you dont scar your rifle. Also, breathing is a biggie, take your time, breathe slowly and let some out before you fire.Being accurate once is easy, doing it every single time takes practice.Learn to control your breathing and your accurate shot placement will improve 100%.But it dont happen overnight, just practice till its a natural act....like breathing. You will see a difference before long.Every one has a shakey moment, buck fever whatever but we all do it,if you use a scope you notice it more also.Just take your time and I am sure you will do better, dont rush your shots.

i dont have the most steady hand, so when i shoot, i like rest my gun on something. resting the the barrel alongside a tree works good for me

When ever you get shaky, take a deep breath, the kind where your stomach goes out, not your shoulders going up. Then, exhale half your breath like carnivore said and hold it. Then take the shot.

Just take a deep breath and focus of where you are going to shoot dont pay any attention to the anmial just what you are going to hit.
