Shooting?

Postby quigleysharps4570 » Tue Jan 04, 2005 9:10 am

Was curious as to if anyone is getting any shooting in? I managed to get out last week and run 25 shots through mine. Planned to this week, been raining though. Kinda takes the pizzazz out of it.

Hey quigley I have been shooting on the nice days. I got to shoot some clays the other day and was shooting my 30-06 in with some 130 grain copper jacketed hollow pionts. Getting ready for the varments.

the only thing i can say is "dont forget to put your earmuffs back on after you walk down to look at the target". man is it loud. i like it so far, going to start reloading soon. has very little recoil and you go thru ammo like it was a .22.

Had intended on getting some in today. Got to mowing some more though. Did get a mighty fine ground blind built too...was a place that was mighty rough mowing, rocks, stumps, unlevel and such. Went in and wreaked havoc with the backhoe...piled it all into a half-moon under a couple cottonwoods. The deer cross through there within 20yds. in the mornings. Oughta be the ticket come Sept. muzzleloading season.

I have a two hundred yard straight fire break behind my house with a dirt mound just the other side of the fence. I put a picnic table back there and shoot all the time. It is great for reloading. No waiting to see how new loads do. I also live in a rural area at 15ac I have the smallest trac no neighbors to look at can hunt from my breakfast room
