shooting distances with a rifle

hey guys i am from arizona where there is miles upon miles of open flat terrain. at what distance would you feel comfortable taking a shot to kill a deer? 300yrds? 500yrds?

Are you asking how far we would shoot or how far you should shoot?

I don't practice beyond 200 yards, so I don't shoot much beyond that. I really don't have that may long shot opportunities where I hunt. But I know guys in the praries that take deer from over 500 yards.

It totally depends on your riffle and your skill. Only practice will dictate how far you should be shooting.

I like to measure it in feet, I got my buck last year at about 20 feet.
