SICK, SICK, SICK

I have been waiting on one buck in particular all bow season in this one area. I have seen him a few times but he had not given me a shot that I was comfortable with even when he was in bow range he stayed one step behind a tree or bush. Just taunting me. Well he finally came in this morning with another shooter buck which was 10 steps from my stand broad side TEMPING ME, but I waited on the shot for his more heavy headed buddy. He never gave a full on broad side shot. when he was in the open he quartered away at 30 yards at which I'm more than comfotable to shoot. TWACK!!! nailed him, waited to hear the crash, but didn't. I waited 4 hours before I looked for him. Found blood for 200 yards and then it Stops. We found blood going into a thicket and then nothing I've searched and searched and searched. I've looked in all ponds and creeks in area, still no deer, don't know what else to do except wait for buzzards to show me a sign. I do plan to continue search tomorrow :( Just thought I would share my disgusting story with others. I've heard about it happening to people, but it makes me SICK to know he's dead and I just can't find him. I have one more buck on cam that I will try to put on the wall before the end of Febuary.

That stinks, and I know how you feel. Where did you hit him? Are you sure it wasnt high? I hit a doe high this year and had a blood trail similar to yours, it went for @ 200yards and then just stopped. I had hit nothing but muscle, which clotted up and the doe is probably still walking.
