SIGHTED IN MY .270 AM I GOOD?

Postby milsaps118 » Fri Oct 19, 2007 8:57 pm

I sighted in my Savage 111bg .270 Win today and shot good 1" groups consistently at 100yrds 3" high, dead center. I'm using Remington Premier AccuTip 130GR. Should I leave my setting the way it is or should I try to get my groupings down to 2-2.5" above the 10?? Will it even matter? At 3" high where am I going to be zero at??

You're zero will be at about 250 yards. If you plan on taking shots at 300 yards leave it alone. But if you only have shots out to 200 yards, drop it down to 2" above center at 100 yards. This will put you dead on at 200. Nice grouping by the way.

Thanks KW. I went back out today and dropped her down to 2.5" above center. I'm thinking I'll be zeroed at 200yrds, that's probably the farthest shot I think I'll take feeling confident with good shot placement.
