They all work, which one is best is a matter of opinion as I don't believe any neutral group has published results of what deer like the best, it would take as many food plots as their are brands and different blends and a way to observe them to see which plot is visited more frequently to know that for certain.

The 'Whitetail Institute', do a google on it if you aren't familiar, they make and sell 'Imperial Whitetail Clover' and other blends. They do give away small sample packs of their blends on their website and i'm pretty sure all you pay is shipping. Its enough for a small plot 'about the size of a average living room in a house'.

If any of the others give away a trial sample I don't know of them.

You can also find out on their site which blend of their product will work best based on where you live, soil type and how much moisture you get each year.

You need to decide on a clearing in your woods where it will get some sunlight where you will plant the food plot and you need to take a sample of dirt and get it tested for the PH and add lime if necessary.

If you need to add lime a good time to do it is when disk the seedbed prior to planting, so you will need access to a disk and tractor to prepair the seedbed, how deep to plant, fertilizer, etc required will be included in the planting instructions.

First thing though is picking the spot, getting a soil sample tested and deciding which food plot mix will work best on your land based on the type of soil and amount of moisture you get per year.

Good Luck!

I used Whitetail Institute's No Plow this year and it worked great. We tested the soil and ended up only having to put down 250 lbs of fertilizer, and the beautiful part about the no plow is you only have to score the surface of the ground so if you don't have acess to a disker you can use a tiller or rake just to break the ground open.
This was my first experience planting a food plot and the people at Whitetail institute were very helpful answering any questions I had.
