I think you are one of only a handful, if not the only, aussie hunter(s) we have here. IF there were more on here I think it would be a possibility to get you one.

Hi Kwackwacker!
I thought I heard a sambar was a cross between a manx and a tabby?
Also I was wondering given Irish and the guy from Norway if we couildnt have an international forum. I'm not sure what a good name for it would be. Not from North America probably wouldn't work.

Yes very funny.....

A sambar is a big ugly deer that comes from india, feral here, third largest deer in the world, and gorw to about 780 pounds.....

we also have red, rusa, chittal, fallow and a few other exotics here and there.

as for having limited apppeal for Oz here, i reckon that there would be heaps of interest form other guys, and when all the old frats over here either die or work out how much good stuff is on this internet thingy, i reckon you'll have a few more members!

nice site anyhow, i'll keep loggin on :)

Hi ausie jo!
I'm glad you're sticking around. This place is richer beacause you are here.
A 780 pound deer! That is the size of an elk! And they're running around wild?
That's too wonderful. I'm just guessing, but being in the Southern hemisphere, isn't hunting season just starting?

yep....and i am really ready this year, we have to wait for the rain to come and wet the ground a bit, as it is very close to get close to sambar while the ground is crackling underfoot.

my dog is still learnnng the ropes but i have shot 5 over the top of her, not bad seeing she is only 8 months old eh?

im looking for a head this year anything over 28 inches is pretty good, while breaking the magic 30 is damn hard!

i'll keep you posted

thanks for your interest

Well you know,an international forum isnt really a bad idea.If we can generate enough intrest with it amnin may agree with it.But at the moment we seem to be shy of a lot of international members.Aussie, tell your buddies about us and hasve them join also.Something good could come from it.
