T/C Sabots Shockwave Bullets

Postby hayman » Fri Dec 26, 2008 7:44 pm

I am new to ML. I have been using Powerbelts and Shock Wave bullets in my T/C Triumph.
My question is about the sabots and bullets. The 250 grn bullets from T/C come in blue tip and yellow. Both are 250 grn. They also have different colored sabots One yellow and one black. Why is this and can you mix them up? Thanks for the help.

iI've done a little research. Hope I get an A

yellow sabots are super glide and can be used with the blue tip shockwave or the yellow tip Hornady bullets in the same cal and weight.
Black are the regular and can also be used with either bullet of same weight and cal.

I never noticed name of manufacturer on the container, only the T/C logo and bullet weight.

I just learned the difference between the yellow and blue tips the blue ones a bonded (the jacket is bonded to the core) the yellow is just like a rifle bullet it is not bonded together.

The sabot colors usually have to do with bullet size.... some are .45 caliber bullets, some are .44 cal. Most companies use black sabots for the .45 cal bullets.

Shockwaves are made by Hornady, they are just like the SST sabots. The bonded SW in 250gr is what I use, they will hold up better to greater velocities, at least thats what is claimed. I will admit that I am new to using SW, I have only taken two deer with them one at 30 yards and the other at 122 yards. Both times the the bonded SW worked perfectly. They are an extremely accurate bullet out of my rifle.
