First off welcome to the DHC forum.

If you do a Google search on Taxidermy and Taxidermy Schools you will find a lot of information on the subject including at least one site that lists Taxidermy Schools and short seminars, there is one in Jackson Tenn.

The short school only lasts 3-5 days so i'm sure they only teach the basics and you continue to learn by reading study materials and by the experience of doing your own mounts at home.

Some people that do their own are likely 'self taught' in that they simply read up on how to do it and and bought the supplies needed and learned by trial and error.

There are some members here that do Taxidermy so maybe one of them will stop buy with some advice.

Good Luck!

Hey ben,

First off befor you get your hopes up taxidermy is not somethingyou can just jump right into as a buisness. Even after taxidermy school. Taxidermy school will only teach you the basics. The rest is up to you.

Their are a lot of taxidermy schools out their. Be careful which one you choose. Their are really good ones and more that are not. Second Nature School of Taxidermy in MT I have heard is a good school. Just do your reasurch befor you choose one.

Their is a lot to learn and you will never learn it all. Most of it is trial and error.
