Talk about harvesting a good buck!

Talk about being in a real pinch!

COMBINE the fact that it was dark and the buck was sleeping and this is what you get.

Contrary to popular belief, there are a few things that run like a deer, GET IT?! No? Okay whatever. I'll stop.
Keep the tradition alive, teach a kid how to hunt.

Whats sad is the buck in that situation would likely have to be put down, I was raised on a farm and have driven tractors, a combine, hay mowers, etc.

At the back of those combine heads is a big saw that cuts the corn stalks and they will cut through leg bones just about as easily so i'm sure the deer in that pic is probably missing at least one or both of its rear legs.

Oh for sure, his butt almost made it into the auger, the shears most likely got his legs.

This sounds like that deer could have had a brain abscesses. It is caused by a bacteria that enters threw the horns while they are in velvet or cuts in their head during fighting. The bacteria will eat through their skull and into their brain. in the beginning it will only make then appear dumb or un wary. Later they will not be able to walk and finally die. My dad ran into a deer that could not get up this hunting season. We could not find any injury on the deer and talked to a warden to see if it could have had CWD or something. he said these Brain Abscesses where relatively common and the deer where save to eat as this was not dangerous to humans. My dad had seen this buck bow hunting the week before, so this process must be relatively fast.
