hi guys im new to the board and new to elk hunting im a whitetail hunter from kansas but have always wanted to hunt elk just never got the opportunity until now. I was selected to participate in the elk management hunt in the Roosevelt national park, the bonuses are i don't have to buy tags, i don't have to buy a state hunting license as long as i have one from my home state. the only downfall is Jan 10 - 14 in North Dakota thats got to be a lot of freakin snow.
I have a remington 770 7mm mag and understand this gun will suffice ? any suggestions on the best ammo to use for elk .
Any advice you guys can give me about dealing with the weather,gear,overall elk advice would be much appreciated.
