Thinking of getting a 300 or 338 RCM

I like small, compact rifles. I own a Browning A-Bolt II stainless stalker in 7 mm - 08 and a Remington Model 700 LSS Mountain Rifle in 270 Win. There is a chance that I may go elk hunting in the near future and I feel I need a larger caliber, but I don't want a larger gun. The Ruger Compact magnums seem to fit that bill, but Kimber has a nice rifle too. Just wanted to see if anyone had experience with the new RCMs. Thanks.
