Has anyone here ever used a "Traditions Persuit XLT" or "Traditions Persuit Pro" muzzle loader? I was wondering how they perform and how well made they are.

Traditions

Hi Ten Point,
I used my Traditions Pursuit XLT Break Open today at the Range.
Fired 7 Hornady Sabots using American Pioneer Powder pellets.
All the Sabots fired at 50 and 100 yards . All of them except 1 were within 3 Inches of the target.
Excellent Performance by the Gun, Very Mild Recoil, in fact better then 270 which I use from time to time.
I used 100 grain and 150 grain of Powder Pellets and could feel the differnce of speed at 100 yards toching the target.
I never cleaned the ML during the rounds as suggested by American Pioneer and do not had difficulty in Loading or Performance .
Came home and cleaned with hot water and after thet ran some Hopes 9 Muzzleloader cleaner inside the barrel and it was shinning as New.
I have never used any other Powder or Pellets so am not sure of 777 or Pyrodex but all friends have been telling me that if I do not clean between the Rounds the I shall mis the target and they leave lot of Residue.
Well in that case American Pioneer has done the Job and the Traditions is 2nd to none in performance.
Lets wait for hunting season and see.
Good luck .

Thanks for the update. I ended up bying a TC Omega last year. That gun is two for two, so I'm pretty happy with it so far.

Hi Camocop, Do you use any Bore butter before or after shooting.
Ever used Kleanbore Primers or American Pioneer powder.
I have used American Pioneer and it is good .

never used bore butter, i read too many mixed reviews. the only powder i use is the (3) 50 grain Pyrodex Pellets, they shoot very well out of my rifle. i tried 777 but it was not consistant enough even though it made cleaning easier. this year i'm gonna try shooting the 270 grain platinum Powerbelts to see if they group well. the 245's grouped real well but they would fragment on impact. both bucks i shot run less than 15 yards but i could not recover the 245 Powerbelt due to it fragmenting into pieces.

I've had my Pursuit LT for 3 or 4 seasons now...I harvested a buck the first year that I owed it. I use Triple 7 pellets and only use 2 pellets...I'm good to about 100 yard with it. No Recoil what so ever...I put a Bushnell 1.5-4.5X Banner on it. Great scope too. I'm using Lightfield Sabots they are hallow pts but still a boat tail design and hold a nice tight little group.

I Love this rifle...and would sing it's praises forever...to bad I couldn't carry a tune in a bucket.

5 maybe 6 years ago PA started an early muzzleloader season which you can use in-lines, so two years ago I bought a pursuit pro and it shoots great. Last year I was in a down pour and I found out they are not water proof, my charge of powder turned into something that looked like old engine oil, so now if it looks like rain I'll use bees wax to seal the breach.
